Following the successful conduct of the State Congress of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State of Osun, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, has called on Party stakeholders to double their commitment to strengthening the Party in the State.
She added that the success of the Osun APC State Congress was a means to a greater end, which she described as securing the foothold of the All Progressive Congress in Osun.
Egbemode, speaking on TVC (Television Continental) News at 10, on Saturday, also lauded the National Committee on the Osun State Congress chaired by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, for what she described as a transparent, well-organised and peaceful Congress.
“It all went very well. The entire process started yesterday (Friday) with a stakeholders’ meeting. The National Committee led by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye met with the stakeholders, and this morning, delegates proceeded to the Osogbo City Stadium where screening and accreditation started very early.

“Every local government had its own space, and we all took turns to do our affirmation and voice vote. It was peaceful because everything went well. It was fun because it was a family gathering. We were able to elect new members of the executive Council to run the affairs of the Party.
“Everything went well. There was no security breach, and there was no dissenting voice.
“What is important at this time is, since the APC is one strong family under Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, is for us to double down on our efforts to strengthen the party. It is time for us to join hands and work with the new chairman, Prince Famodun Adegboyega, and his team, and do everything that will strengthen the space of the APC in Osun is done.
“We need to work with the Governor, the government and with the Party, to ensure that our primaries is hitch-free, the national convention is hitch-free, and that when it is time for our election in July next year, we do everything to retain our space in Osun”, Egbemode said.
