Appeal Committee for the State Congress of the All Progressives Congress has announced it received no petition from any member of the party in respect to the State Congress held on October 16, 2021 in Osogbo.

Chairman of the committee, Ambassador Obed Wadzani made this known on Sunday at a press briefing held at the party secretariat.

Wadzani said the committee, which was inaugurated on October 21 in Abuja, received no petition either from the national headquarters of the party or from any member in the State.

Wadzani said, “the press briefing is to inform the world of the purpose of our being here. The committee was inaugurated on October 21, in Abuja. We are to look at any appeal that may emanate from the State Congress held by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye-led committee.

“No petition was given to us at the national headquarters of the party and here in Osogbo, no petition was received.”

The Committee then upheld the election of Prince Gboyega Famodun-led State, adding that it will constitute part of it’s report.

Speaking with newsmen, Famodun said the only assignment before him, his EXCOS and other members of the party across the State is winning governorship election in 2022.

Famodun said, “you know something is unit about Osun APC. We had our State Congress on October 16. Our party primary comes up on February 16 and the main election is on July 16. I believe that with the support of the leaders of the party, we will come out victorious on July 16.

“APC is a big family. We believe that with time, all aggrieved members will come together and work for the party.”
