The Osun State Government under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola has taken a step to analyse the roads construction and rehabilitation of 25 roads in six zones across the State.
Hon. Remi Omowaye, the Commissioner for Works and Transport and Engr Olatoke Olaniyan, the special adviser to the Governor on Works and Transport gave the breakdown of the projects on Wednesday in Osogbo, the State capital.
The duo said Oyetola has transformed the state that was reputable for its inability to pay staff salaries in the past, to one that can easily roll out massive infrastructural projects.
Omowaye said the present administration in the State has done massive projects in since its inception in 2018 and will not stop until its termination.
He said, “Osun state was once a state that one believe in due to the non-payment of salary but today we are rolling out massive infrastructure. The administration have been doing a lot work and we will continue to do more till the last day in the office 2026.”
He added that “when Governor Gboyega Oyetola came into power, there was no good major township road that was good in Osun West and today they have fixed enough road.”

The Commissioner also commended the effort of the Osun State Government and the importantly, the Governor for their support over the roads that have been abandoned by the Federal Government in the State. Among them is the reconstruction of Osogbo-Ilobu-Ifon road from Lameco junction, which according to him, will commence soon.

He added that Osun Road Maintenance Agency, (ORMA),the Agency who repair potholes and the agency is presently working in 5 zones in the state.
Here is the list of the roads to be rehabilitated across the six zones.
Ife zone
Ipetumodu-Ode-omu road with a length of 5-83km, linking Ife North and Ayodnade Local Government Areas
Ayetoro Street in Ifetedo, Ife-South Local Government with a length of 0.85km
Ilesa Zone
Wesley-Guild Hospital/ Oke-fro road in Ilesa East Local Government Area with a length of 0.748km
School of Health Technology junction, Ilesa/Orogboji/Ayegbaju/Iwikum/lyinta/twara/Ifewara road, linking ILesa East and Atakumosa West covering a length of 8.okm
Ita-Akogun /Ita-Ofa/General Hospital road, Ilesa, in Ilesa West Local Government Area with a length of 2.85km
Iwara/Igangan Ayegunle Olopon road in Atakumosa East Local Government Area with a length of 10.2km
Eti Oni/Esa-Oke road in Obokun Local Government Area with a length of 9.0km

CMS / Oluawo Oba/Kolawole Junction/Oluode – Orita Elelede/Owode Market/Almadiya junction roads, Osogbo in Olorunda Local Government Area, covering 2.145 km lenth of road.
Obalende – Ojude Oga/ Oke Baale road, Osogbo in Osogbo Local Government Area with a length of 0.945km
