The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has congratulated Barrister Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, who emerged governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State on Wednesday after a keenly contested governorship primaries. Osun PDP also applauded the party delegates, leaders and members of the noble umbrella party in Ondo State for their vision in choosing Barrister Jegede who has demonstrated alluring capacity and unwavering loyalty to the party over time.

A congratulatory message to Barrister Jegede, signed by the State Acting Chairman of the PDP in Osun State, Elder Sunday Akanfe Atidade and made available to newsmen, described emergence of the legal luminary as exemplary and another testament to the democratic values the PDP is adding to the country’s political experience.

Barrister Eyitayo Jegede had late on Wednesday, polled a total of 888 votes to defeat other contenders for the PDP’s governorship ticket in the Sunshine State. His victory also elicited immediate support from his opponents in the fiercely fought but peaceful primary election.

Elder Akanfe commended all other aspirants for their spirit of sportsmanship in accepting the outcome of the primaries. He also admonished party faithful in Ondo State to quickly build on the success recorded at the primaries to foster stronger unity amongst all caucuses in the fold of Ondo PDP and form a formidable force against all evil antics of those he described as enemies of democracy the party is due to contend with at the poll in a couple of months.

While assuring Barrister Eyitayo Jegede of best wishes, prayers and solidarity of leaders and members of Osun PDP towards a resounding victory, Elder Akanfe prayed God for a hitch free campaigns towards the election with the hope that all hands remained on deck to prevent and resist the recently invented inconclusive arrangements for sole aim of subverting people’s will by political cankerworms in Nigerian electoral processes.
