The Osun State Police Command has warned citizens of the state that it will embark on full enforcement of the government directives on containing coronavirus pandemic.

According to a statement by the Police Spokesperson in the state, DSP Yemisi Opalola, the directives include physical and social distancing, restriction on inter-state movement, use of facemasks, night curfew, among others.

The statement reads, “The Osun State Police Command wishes to remind the good people of Osun State that the government order and guidelines against the coronavirus pandemic is still in force. Highlights of these guidelines includes physical and social distancing, restriction on inter-state movement except when is unavoidably necessary, night curfew, use of face mask in public places, observance of personal hygiene such as regular washing of hand with soap and running water as well as usage of alcohol based hand sanitizer.

“As we all know, the Nigeria Police Force is saddled with the responsibility of maintaining law and order. Therefore, the Commissioner of Police. Osun State Command, CP Undie I. Adie PSC has directed police personnel to emure total enforcement of the aforementioned guidelines, as non compliance will elicit sanction.

“In the same vein, the Commissioner of Police with to express his appreciation of the citizens for their previous compliance with the lockdown orders and enjoined them to continue to cooperate with the Nigeria police and be law abiding citizens.”
