Oyetola only attended my official engagement in Osun once in four years – Aregbesola

Minister of Interior and Former Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has said that his successor in office, Mr Gboyega Oyetola only attended his official engagement once in his four years tenure.

Aregbesola said this while praising Governor Ademola Adeleke for being physically present at the commisioning of Ilesa passport office on Tuesday.

“I want to acknowledge and appreciate you (Gov. Adeleke) for honouring me with your presence. I left this state as a former Governor some years ago. As a Minister, I have attended several event in the state, the former Governor, despite being from the same party attended only one of those events.

Now, Governor Adeleke, from a different party, honoured me with his presence in my first event in the state. I really appreciate you”, he said.

In his reaction, Adeleke issued an Executive Order to protect Aregbesola from being pursued out of the State whenever he visits, adding that the former Governor is “making us proud”.

Adeleke said, ” I am issuing an Executive Order, protecting you, nobody can pursue you from this state. It is your state, nobody can stop you from coming in as you like. You are making us proud.”

He added that he will soon invite Aregbesola to commission some projects initiated by his (Aregbesola’s) administration that he will be completing.

InsightMedia recalled that Aregbesola and his erstwhile Chief of Staff, Oyetola were at loggerheads for majority of four years the latter used as Governor.
