Photos: Osun Govt commissions newly renovated six blocks of classrooms in Irewole LGA

In a bid to enhance the learning environment and provide better facilities for students, the Osun State Government has successfully renovated six classroom blocks at Odeyinka High School in Irewole North East Local Government Area.

The official commissioning of this project took place at the school premises in Odeyinka, with students, teachers, local residents, and government officials in attendance.

This is the third in the series of commissioning of projects executed under the DLI1.4 of the Osun COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus, Osun-CARES.

Hon. Ganiyu Olaoluwa, the Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, while highlighting the importance of creating an enabling environment for education, expressed appreciation to the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke .

He stated, “This education project will benefit the entire community. It will contribute to the government’s efforts to motivate students to learn in a conducive environment, improve school enrollment, and eliminate negative factors like stress that hinder teaching and learning.”

In his closing remarks, Hon. Ganiyu urged the community and the school authorities to ensure proper maintenance and sustainability of the project to benefit future generations.

Earlier in her address, Aderonke Funmi Abokede, the General Manager of the Osun Community Development Agency, praised the Osun State Government for its support in improving school facilities through Osun CSDA.

She emphasized that investing in education is an investment in the future, as children are the future of any community.

Abokede stated, “Education is the key to eliminating inequality and reducing poverty. The renovation of these six classroom blocks at the High School will provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning. This will not only encourage increased enrollment but also retention and, more importantly, improved academic performance.”

She called upon the Odeyinka Community, parents, and teachers to ensure the proper care and maintenance of the school building, furniture, and equipment so that these facilities can serve the community for years to come.

Hon. Akinpelu Kolawole, the Caretaker Chairman of Irewole North East LCDA Wasinmi, expressed gratitude to the State Government for the renovation of the school compound, creating a conducive environment for students to learn.
