Osun State Police Command has paraded five suspected ritualists who specialize in using human parts for rituals in the state.

The suspects, who were arrested at different locations within Osogbo, the state capital and Kajola Ijesha in Atakumosa West local government, were caught with rotten two human hands and two legs.

The suspects are Adewunmi Gbadamosi, 50; Rasheed Ajani, 55; Saka Akeem, 56; Abiodun Adetimilehin, 56; and Olagunju Adetunji, 40 years of age.

Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode, who paraded the suspects and others arrested for armed robbery reiterate his commitment towards making the state a safe haven for residents.

Paraded for armed robbery were Hammed Abiodun, 19; Godwin John, 35; Saka Wasiu, 28; and Basiru Adepoju, 30.

While Abiodun and John were alleged of invasion of Osu area on Ilesha-Ife expressway. Wasiu and Adepoju were arrested for robbing residents in Ido-Osun area of the State.

“On 20/05/2021 at about 11:50 am, a gang of armed robbers armed with guns and other dangerous weapons invaded Ilesa/ Ife expressway in Osu Area, attacked a commercial Toyota picnic vehicle at gun point and dispossessed the passengers of their valuable properties such as handsets, Jewelries, cash sum of money and other valuables items. One of the armed robbers after robbing their victims, the following day wore a Jean Jacket dispossessed the victim (driver) of to a first generation Bank, Lagere, Ile-Ife and unfortunately for him, the driver identified the robber and his cloth wore, alerted the police and two of the suspects were arrested. The suspects will be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.

“The above named suspects were arrested in connection with a case of Armed Robbery earlier reported on 17/04/2021 at Ido-Osun Divisional Headquarters. Upon the report, the police investigative team swung into action and one Saka Wasiu, a motorcyclist who robbed his victim with a knife and carted away her phone and money before he escaped from the scène. Intelligent led policing led to the arrest of his receiver one Basiru Adepoju who was in possession of the mobile phone. The suspects confessed to have committed the offence and they will be charged to court.”
