Osogbo set to be zonal headquarters for Osun, Ondo, Ekiti

The Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, Osun State Headquarters has charged residents of the state to see security of lives and properties as everybody’s business.

Osun State Command of the NSCDC made this known when its newly deployed Commandant, Abdulkadir Alao Sulu, play host to the leadership of the Osun Online Media Practitioners in his office, Osogbo on Friday.

The association led by its Chairman, Jare Tiamiyu was on a courtesy visit to welcome the new commandant, who was recently posted to state and to express her readiness to collaborate with the agency in sanitizing the state of criminality.

Sulu maintained that the major objective of NSCDC is to ensure that life and and property of citizens and foreigners are saved at all time.

He also stressed that control of natural disaster
protection of national assets and avoidance of farmers clash are integral to the core of the corps.

He, however, sought a close working relationship with members of the online media practitioners, saying information gathering is one of the important elements in discharging their duty.

He also implored them to ensure that the public is well informed accurately and desist from reports that is capable of endangering public peace.

In another vain, Commandant Sulu disclosed that Osogbo will now become zonal headquarters of the newly created zone for Ekiti, Ondo and Osun which he said will be under the supervision of Assistant Commandant General Fasiu Adeyinka.

He also said the newly built headquarters of the command in Osogbo will be ready for use before this month ends.

Speaking on the challenges faced by the Osun NSCDC, Commandant Sulu said the agency lacks adequate patrol vehicles, other logistics and funding, calling on NGOs and private organization and government at state and local levels to support their activities.
