Amidst threats and show of force by the police, Army, NSCDC, and other security agencies in Lagos, the agitators of Yoruba Nation went ahead with the scheduled Saturday rally.
Meanwhile, a self-proclaimed activist and one of the vanguards of the Yoruba Nation agitation, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as “Sunday Igboho” was not in sight.

However, women clad in white attire believed to be traditionalists also put up a show at the rally in Ojota, Lagos.
Singing unity songs as they marched on, the women in their numbers, stopped in front of a police vehicle for few seconds before marching ahead.
Insight Media had earlier reported that as part of measures to ward off people gathering at the Gani Fawenhimi Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos, venue of the planned mega rally by Oodua Republic secessionist agitators, armed Policemen and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and others have cordoned off some parts of Ikorodu Road and environs, resulting in heavy traffic around the axis.
A girl has also been killed by a stray bullet during the rally. The lifeless body of the unknown girl was crowded by sympathisers at the scene.
