Tension brews in Iwo as youths dump corpse of communal clash victim at police station

 

Some Youths in Iwo have taken the corpse of one Abass Akingbade Adewale who was allegedly shot during the clash between Iwo and Ileogbo on Friday to Iwo Divisional Police Headquarters.

This was as seen in a video shared by Oladosu Adio Adenle on his Facebook page.

Oladosu explained that Abass was shot four days ago in the crisis between Ileogbo and Iwo and eventually died this morning.

“Now we are here at the Iwo Police station to drop his corpse if the government will not take necessary action”.

“Abass was shot by the orderly to Olu of Ileogbo and he died around 1am this morning” he said.

He called on the Osun state government to take necessary steps before the issue escalates between Iwo and Ileogbo.

The Osun Police Command PRO, Mrs Yemisi Opalola who confirmed the incident dicelosed that Abass was reportedly shot by one Nurein on Friday on the disputed land before the deceased died on Tuesday.

“One Gbola Fasasi of Ashipa compound reported that his brother Adewale Abass Akingbade was shot on the head by one Nurein, an aide to Olu of Ileogbo. Abbas was treated at Hospital and by an alternative medicine practitioner before he died on Tuesday.

She said Preliminary Investigation is in progess.
