Former Governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has described the allege endorsement of Chief Bode George, Professor Tunde Adeniran and Professor Taoheed Adedoja as the candidates of South West for the Chairmanship position of Peoples’ Democratic Party by a caucus in the zone as ‘undemocratic and a huge joke’.

The Board of Trustees of the party in south west has on Saturday declared their support for the former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Chief Bode George, one time Minister of Sports and Special Duties, Professor Taoheed Adedoja and Former Minister of Education, Professor Tunde Adeniran. Those cut off the race are Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former Governorship Candidate of the party in Lagos state, Jimi Agbaje, Senator Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo state, immediate past National Secretary of the party, Professor Wale Ladipo and the latest entrant into the race, Akin-Deko Akintayo from Ondo State.

In his reaction, Daniel out rightly rejected the purported endorsement, describing it as undemocratic and promised to continue his nationwide consultations.

He said “it is unimaginable that some people will still go and sit down in one corner and say they are imposing an endorsement on the party. This was exactly one of the vices that led to out party’s ouster from power. Nobody knew when they met. I’m on the road in the North West going on with consultations and working to build a virile political party and some people are somewhere still living in the past.
