The report of autopsy conducted on the remains of the late Timothy Adegoke, a Master’s student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, who died in controversial circumstances at Hiltons Hotels Ile-Ife, Osun State has been submitted to the police.
It was gathered that the report was submitted on Wednesday at Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
It was further learnt that a copy of the report was also submitted to Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo.
When contacted, Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, disclosed that the command was no longer investigating the matter and directed all enquiries to the Force Headquarters in Abuja that was presently handling the case.
However, the elder brother to the deceased, Gbade Adegoke, while speaking on the development, said even though the family has not been officially informed, they have also learnt the report had been submitted in Osogbo Command and Abuja Force Headquarters.
Adegoke said, “The report has been submitted to Osogbo (Osun Command) and Abuja (Force Headquarter). We don’t know what is written inside. We have not been called, but we know they will call us soon.”
It would be recalled that the autopsy was conducted on Monday, November 22 at Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo by a team of medical experts.
At the commencement of the procedure, the remains of Adegoke packed in a body bag was brought out of the morgue and taken out in an ambulance to Radiation Room, where an x-ray was done.
The body was later returned to the mortuary, as a team of pathologists commenced the post mortem after they had analysed the clothing that the deceased wore last before his death.
The four hour-procedure, which had in attendance representatives of all the parties in the matter, according to Naim Adekilekun, the counsel for the family of the late Adegoke, started around 2:30pm and ended by 6:30pm.
Founder of the Hotel, Dr Ramon Adedoyin and six staff were on Monday denied bail by a court in Abuja.
