Chief Mike Amachree has appealed to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to relax the curfew in Oyigbo local government Area after relaxing the curfew in other local government initially affected by the curfew.

The curfew was placed as a result of the vandalization and destruction of public and private  properties, burning down police station and killing of two policmen during the EndSARS protest that occurred in the community.

All these act are said to be attributed to the violence that is trailing the EndSARS protests and also members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)

o the Governor is that people across the state has resumed back to their legitimate businesses apart from the people of Oyigbo council.

He also said ” Oyigbo has plenty industries and large industrial establishment but due to the curfew, business activities have been poor and slow. I’m appealing to the governor to relax the curfew in Oyigbo as he has relaxed other part of the state and ensure there is maximum security in order to protect and enable the law abiding citizens go back to the various businesses”.
