Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum on Thursday supervised the distribution of food items and other relief materials to the people of Bama town, Bama local government area of the state.

It was reported that not less than 12,887 residents of the town have each received a donation of assorted foodstuffs package that include rice, grit maize and cooking oil.

Governor Zulum had also inspected 16 primary and junior secondary schools within Bama town, where he took roll-call of teachers in all the schools to ascertain those on duty.

Unsatisfied with the poor attendance, angry Zulum vowed to apply appropriate disciplinary measures to serve as a deterrent to others.

Kanem Trust reports that other places visited by the Governor in Bama included, Umar Ibn Ibrahim College of Education, Science and Technology Bama, Government Day Secondary School Bama, Indimi Village and Borno State Hotels, Bama.

At the Umar Ibrahim College of education, Governor Zulum directed the commencement of academic activities at the college by February 2020.

Meanwhile, Governor Zulum had assured people of Soye village that the reconstruction of their community would soon commence and people would be relocated back to their ancestral homes.

Governor Zulum stopped over at Konduga, where he assured the residents that their secondary school would be reopened next academic session and relief items to support livelihood will be provided soon. (Daily Trust)
