Senator Dino Melaye has told on the Federal Government and Kogi State Government to desist from the proposed cattle colony in Kogi State, stating their land, water, soil and air are not meant for cattle.

The Kogi West Senator made this known in a press release he personally signed today.

Melaye berated Governor Bello and Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe and urged them to desist from the plan as that will be totally rejected by Kogi West people.

He added that the acceptance of the project by Governor Bello is as a result of his desperation to have access to funds that will be used for the project.

He said “The governor’s latest shenanigans is not surprising in the sense that money is involved. The Federal Government will definitely make funds available to Bello to kick-start the pilot scheme in Kogi State.

“Therefore, as a true representative of the people of Kogi West senatorial zone and on behalf of my constituents, we warn in strong terms that our soil, land, water and air cannot be used for cattle colonies.

“Let it be clear to all the insensitive people behind the idea that Kogi West will resist the establishment of any cattle colony within our domain politically, spiritually, traditionally and with any means available within the ambit of the law,” the statement concludes.
