The Inspector General of Police has on March 28, removed the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ali Janga following the escape of six suspects from detention.

The Police Spokesman, Moshood Jimoh on Tuesday confirmed the re-arrest of the suspects and those who aided the jail break.

But the latest development in the state in that the embattled commissioner has been reinstated.

Source in Lokoja, the State capital told Daily Post that the reinstatement was facilitated by the governor of the state, Alhaji Yahya Bello who was said not to be comfortable working with the new CP.

Bello allegedly told the NSA that he had invested in security in the state to ensure reduction of insecurity.

Sources added that Bello insisted that Kogi has a peculiar problem and that the hierarchy should be guided, which according to him, the old CP was doing very well.
