It was a jubilation mood for constituents of Ayedaade, Irewole, Isokan Federal Constituency as lawmaker representing the area at the National Assembly, Hon. Lanre Oladebo held an empowerment programme for them.

The empowerment programme, held on Friday, includes cash grants for MSME owners, distribution of equipment to artisans and distribution of 500 bags of rice.

Oladebo also used the avenue to give letters of appointments of 40 persons appointed as his aides across the three local government areas.

The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State, Hon. Sunday Bisi, who was present at the programme described the programme as “another fantastic dividend brought to the people by a PDP representative”.

Bisi said lawmakers elected on the platform of the PDP are “acting based on the Party manifesto that puts the people first.

“In the next four years, Osun people will see that PDP representatives and the PDP government under Senator Ademola Adeleke are the best things to happen to them. These lawmakers are working according to the manifesto of our Party which is keeling the People’s first.” Bisi said.

Addressing the mammoth audience, Oladebo appreciated them for their support. He said the project is in fulfillment of campaign promises made during the electioneering campaign.

“In total, we have over 700 beneficiaries. Though it’s going to be more than that because the rice will go down to all wards and you can’t give a figure to the number of households that’ll benefit from that. But for the tools, training and cash grants, over 700 persons are benefiting.

“I have also appointed a number of aides that’ll work with me across all the three local government areas. This is to ensure we give adequate representation to our people.”

Oladebo added that apart from this empowerment, he has influenced some infrastructural projects into the national budget for 2024, stating that several roads with the area will receive federal government attention in 2024.

“Apart from this type of empowerment that will continue, I have also influenced some infrastructural projects into our Constituency. I can tell my people that in 2024, some federal roads will receive attention. I’m not happy with the State of infrastructural projects in our area and we’ll complement the efforts of Governor Ademola Adeleke on that.”

Oladebo urged Nigerians to be patient, revealing that the 2024 budget as presented by President Bola Tinubu will address some challenges facing the country.

He appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke “for the great jobs he’s doing in Osun State.”

That Alapomu of Apomu, Oba Kayode Afolabi called on the people of the three local governments to support Oladebo in his quest to bring more dividends of democracy to them.

The monarch said, “with what Oladebo has done in just six months, if we support him more, he will do more for everyone. I urge all of us to stand by his and give him absolute support and I believe he will deliver more.”

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with InsightMedia commended the lawmaker for giving back to the people he represents.
