Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has stated that his administration is keen on delivering the N100bn infrastructure as announced by him in October this year.

Adeleke said this on Friday during an inspection of the ongoing dualisation of Rasco-Okefia-Lameco road in Osogbo, the State capital.

Adeleke, who has announced his resumption after a short vacation abroad, said some of the ongoing projects will be completed earlier than the 12 months announced during the unveiling.

Speaking with journalists, Adeleke who was received by cheering Osun residents, said, “When we talk, actions follow. That is what we have seen here. I’m so happy with the work done here.”

Speaking on timeframe, the Governor said, “with the rate of ongoing works here, I can tell you that some of the projects will be completed before that 12 months. In eight months, some of these projects will be done.”

Earlier at a media parley to announce his resumption, Adeleke appreciated the support of the press men for his administration, while soliciting for more.

“First is to announce my resumption of duty after my working vacation. I am here to push ahead with our pro-people policies and programmes. While I was away, a lot happened. I thank the media for its fairness and avoidance of fake news. Just as my team represented me well, the media also acted professionally. You rejected merchants of fake news. You uphold the ethics of your noble profession. Accept my commendation.

“The second reason is to express my heartfelt gratitude to the media for your consistent backing. In the last one year, the media has granted me unsolicited assistance and goodwill. My achievements in office under one year were well amplified by the media. Anywhere I go, people accost me, saying “you are doing well. We are reading your good work”. But I always whisper to myself- the media is in love with you. I deeply appreciate you , the journalists, especially those directly covering my activities.

“Like Oliver Twist, I am asking for further partnership and closer collaboration. My government is working on measures to ease challenges of your operations in the state.

“As your grand patron, I have a duty to make the state media friendly. I commit myself to creating an enabling environment through open government and transparency.”
