In order to mark the Eid-l-fitr with transporters in Oriade local government, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Tola Faseru earlier in the week distributed free fuel to motorcyclists in the area.

No fewer than 200 Okada riders were beneficiaries of the gesture aimed at bringing more grassroots support to the government of Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Faseru said the gesture is also aimed at ensuring people at the grassroots feel the joyous moment as embedded in the Eid-l-Fitr celebration.

The motorcyclists, who were at the NNPC station, Ijebu-jesa for the fuel, hailed Faseru for remembering them at a time when no election is approaching.

One of the beneficiaries, Olalekan Arokunjoye said he was surprised by the gesture as he never expected.

“I came here to buy fuel only to get here and was told that we are to get fuel for free. We don’t see this kind of thing when election is not approaching. Politicians only do something like this during election period. We so much appreciate this.”
