As part of the ongoing activities marking the Silver Jubilee of the ancient town of Ilobu, the Ilobu Development Union has honoured three of illustrious sons as theby commissioned multi-million naira Ilobu House Complex.
Those honoured are the first Chairman of Irepodun Local Government, Hon. Jide Daniel, The First Ilobu Grammar school Principal, Alhaji Jamiu adepoju and The Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Lasun Yusuff.
The event that was held at the newly commissioned hall had the presence of several dignitaries like Olobu of Ilobu land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ashiru Olatoye Olaniyan, Chief Imam of Ilobu land, Sheik Jamiu Muhammad Ballo, Agbaakin of Ilobu, Alh. Amuda Yusuff, Deputy Speaker and Ikolaba of Ilobu, House of Reps, Rt. Hon, Lasun Yusuff, President of IDU, Alhaji Lekan Yusuff, Vice President 1 and Chairman Planning committee if Ilobu Day, Chief Paul Odeyemi and other distinguished sons and daughters of the community.
In his Remark, The Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Olaniyan appreciated the patrotism of the Honourees in making sure that the community develop under his watch and urge every indigene of Ilobu to always remember their source.
Earlier in his welcome address, The National Presidentof Ilobu Development Union, Alh. Lekan Yusuff, FNIM praised the commitment of all the sons and daughters of Ilobu for their contribution towards to the development of the community. He extolled the philantropism of the Deputy Speaker for his contribution which he said has always be on “geometrical increase”.
He said “the N10m given to us by the Deputy Speaker last year remains untouched and everyone can see what we have achieved here. What we will use the money for will be so visible and appreciated by all. This was made possible through relentless effort of several individual, mostly notably Olobu of Ilobu”
