Dr. Olayinka Ayinde, Osun 2018 governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress, on today played host to the Federation of Iwo Land Students’ Union at his Osogbo residence.

The eight-man team which was led by the President of the Union, Comrade Abeeb Muyiwa Abdulhamid expressed the delights to be with the illustrious son of Iwo land.

Other people at the meeting were the immediate past Vice President 1 of National Association of Osun State Students, Hamzat Olajide Yusuf, Union’s VP, Adeleke Ademola, Abimbola Fatimoh, Ahmed Ridwan, Olaleke Abdurouf, Tajudeen Yekeen and Ridwan Opeyemi.

In his address, the President appreciated the kind gesture of Dr. Ayinde for hosting them and went further to highlight the challenges and agenda of his administration.

He said “Sir, we really appreciate you sir. This administration was ushered in less than two weeks ago and we inherited several challenges. Although, we have resolved not to be distracted by the challenges as we are determined to get over them with the support of people like you.

“This administration has packaged a lots of lofty and youths oriented programmes that will not only boost our academic career but also promote Iwo land at large and we are here familiarise ourselves with you and also seek your support .”

Also speaking at the meeting was Hamzat Olajide Yusuf, who sought the assistance and partnership of the Guber aspirant in procuring bus for the union, furnishing of the secretariat and setting up of e-library for the union.

Olajide also commended the empowerment programmes Ayinde’s NGO has facilitated for people in the State and urged him to extend it the FILSU.

“I want to personally appreciate your zeal, passion and commitment towards the development of our society through the humanitarian and insightful empowerment programmes that your Non-Goveenmental Organization is doing for both young and old in the society. I plead with you to extend the tentacles tk the union members.”

Reacting to the commendation and request of the Union, Dr. Ayinde the students of Iwo land and urged them to remain committed and dedicated towards the development of their source.

He expressed optimism that the future if Iwo land and Osun State is bright considering the great thirst the present generation of youths have for education and community service and promised to always support them.

“I will support your agenda but I will like to advise you that union of comrades should be isolated from politics. This is because politicians will always their interest to prevail,” he said.

“More so, you must be cautious of what you do because history is made gradually.”

Ayinde urged them to also key into the Osun West agenda and “Iwo Lokan” mantra with patriotism to the state. credibility, competence and political acumen of the aspirant should be among the criteria to single am aspirant for support.
