The atmosphere at the National Assembly this evening became tense as some Senators and Honourable members were seen coming into the complex and gathering in batches to discuss.
The strange the moment started lawmakers who are on annual vacation were seen coming into the complex at about 16:00 in the evening after a junk number of the complex staff have closed for the day.
The development led to instantaneous crowding of the lobby of the two chambers by some staff, political associates and aides and security men.
Increased presence of the security operatives also heightened the tension as the entrances to the two chambers of were manned by up to ten security personnel together.
A source that’s privy to the development said the senators loyal to the All Progressives Congress are planning to reconvene the plenary as to react to the recent defection of Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
Some Senators have in the recent times threatened to remove Saraki, if he dumps the party.
Another source said “the senators are planning to reconvene the plenary tomorrow and may impeach Saraki.
