Governor, State of Osun Mr Gboyega Oyetola has again reteirated the determination of his administration to harness the full potentials of the state in the areas of culture and tourism for the economic development and advancement of Yoruba cultural heritage.

Governor Oyetola reteirated the commitment in Ede on thursday while unveiling the Logo and investiture of ambassadors of the Yoruba Traditional Religion Immersion Pilgrimage (YTRIP) tagged ” Karele Oodua Ambassadors”, held at Western Sun International Hotel

The programme was put together with the support of the state government through the ministry of home affairs, culture and tourism.

The Governor who spoke through his Deputy Mr Benedict Alabi said the programme was part of effort to revive Yoruba cultural heritage which is gradually being forgotten and neglected as a result of Western Civilization.

Governor Oyetola used the occasion to emphasize the need for all Yorubas as a people to promote and preserve their cultural heritage in the interest of the present and future generations.

The programme according to him will also Foster unity among the Yorubas both at home and in diaspora.

He said” this is a call to reawakening the consciousness of Yorubas to their rich culture as enshrined in their norms, ethos and values as a people.

This Programme will boost our tourism potentials in the state by increasing the revenue base through tourism thereby improving our economy”, the Governor disclosed.

He reminded the ambassadors of the programme to see themselves as representatives of government and as a special people carefully selected to represent Yoruba race anywhere in the world with a duty to promote the programme as well as Yoruba cultural heritage.
