The Kwara state government led by AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commenced work on Ilesha Gwanara road project and will cover at least 20Km before the week runs out.
It should be noted that the Ilesha Gwanara road undergoing construction under the AbdulRazaq administration was one that led to stoning attacks on the convoy of former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; and former Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed in Gwanara town where the residents protested against the bad state of their road.
Governor AbdulRazaq had expressed dissatisfaction on the state of our roads in Kwara regarding them as disappointing and emphasized that he won’t want to also be stoned.
“This is particularly true of Kwara North. There is no road, for instance, from Ilesha Baruba to Gwanara, especially now that it is raining; and yet the contractor handling it is collecting money” AbdulRazaq said recently.
The roads undergoing construction across the state is a fulfilment of campaign promises made to Kwarans and a sign that AbdulRazaq is aware of the high expectations of the people and had resolved to work for the people, especially on road construction and provision of other social infrastructure.
