Men of the Nigerian police, Soldiers and DSS operatives have sealed off the venue of a symposium where Professor Wole Soyinka, Mr. Femi Falana SAN and other speakers were to address the state of insecurity in the country.

The programme organised by a group known as Coalition for Revolution (CORE) was billed to hold at 46, Ibijoke street, Oluyole bus-stop, Oregun, Lagos.

It has as its theme: “Democracy, State Repression and the State of insecurity in Nigeria”.

It was gathered that a BBC journalist, Andrew Gift was arrested at venue symposium and asked to delete footages he had from the scene of military siege in order to negotiate his release.

It was also gathered that the security have also taken over the premises and are now arresting every suspect in sight, including bystanders.
