Recently in Edo state, the crisis between the former governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole and his successor, Godwin Obaseki escalated beyond reconcilation after the governor left the All Progressives Congress for his predecessor who was hell bent on not allowing him seek his reelection bid on the platform of the party.

The crisis between the duo started in 2018 with a cold war and degenerated into big crisis. The result is everywhere.

In Osun the same matter has continued between the two leaders – the immediate past Governor and Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola and the incumbent Governor, Gboyega Oyetola – as they have drawn battle line.

Although the two have continued to deny rift between them, but analysts understand that public confessions as political game.

The war escalated over the past ten days as Oyetola failed to attend nor congratulate Aregbesola’s wife, Sherifat, on her 60th birthday last week. He was also conspicuously absent at the event held in Lagos, which was attended by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

To credit of Oyetola’s family, the first lady, Kafayat, greeted her predecessor in the media by sponsoring a page in the newspaper to celebrate Sherifat. However, she was not in Lagos to be part of the birthday bash.

Aregbesola paid his predecessor back in his own coin during the Governor’s 66th birthday on Tuesday.

Aregbesola, an active twitter user who had several tweet engagements on Tuesday failed to acknowledge the birthday of his successor.
