… As Minister holds joint press session with NDDC Boss
The minister of Niger Delta Senator Godswill Akpabio has said the presidency is ready and willing to Reposition the Niger Delta Development Commission. He said this during a joint press Briefing with the acting managing Director of the NDDC Mr Effiong Akwa.
During his interaction with Press men at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) head quarters he said when he came on board he ensured that the NDDC HQ is completed so that the burden of 300million rent will stop being paid by the commission for their aba road head quarters.
He further said that Mr akwa was appointed because he was the most senior staff of the commission when when the precious IMC was saked that’s why he was appointed Interim Admin not because he is from same state. He mentioned how Mr Effiong brought peace and settlement between his ministry and the National Assembly after they had been disagreeing for a while.
While speaking to news men the Interim Administrator Mr Effiong Akwa said he must commend the effort of the Minister Senator Akpabio for making his job smooth and for being a good supervising minister. He also thanked the national Assembly for supporting his work so far and easing his work, he however said there’s need to review the nddc act.
Questions were asked and treated by the Minister and Interim Administrator. It is safe to say the Niger Delta Development Commission is getting it right for the first time since inception. (Sphere Watch)
