A group in the Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC), the Reformist Progressive Forum, has thrown its weight behind the appointment of Sen. Khairat Gwadebe into the Membership Registration Appeal Committee of the party.
The FidelinfoNews gathered that insinuations making round in some quarters, especially the Integrity Group, which had rejected the appointment l, citing that Sen. Gwadebe had represented the the Federal Capital Territory, and cannot represent Kwara.
A statement by the Group’s Convener, Barr. Nasiru Suleiman and it’s Secretary, Comr. Bello M. Jimoh noted that Sen. Gwadabe is not representing Kwara in the committee, as she is representing the national level organ of the party.
“Indeed it is very surprising and disappointing that the acclaimed ‘integrity group’ and their promoters within Kwara APC lacks the uprightness and forthrightness that the word ‘integrity’ denotes.” the statement read in parts.
The statement also added that Sen. Gwadebe is a character of good repute in the sphere of contemporary Nigerian politics and an advocate of justice, equity and democratic values, thus her critics or antagonists should desist from unhealthy criticism.
