The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has called for gender balance within the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense, NSCD, saying female officers should be given chance to exhibit their potential.

Aregbesola made this call at the passing out parade for members of the newly established civil defence female squad, held at the parade ground of the civil defence training college katsina, on Thursday.

The minister in his address said ” I am highly delighted to be in your midst on this special occasion of the passing out ceremony for members of the newly established Civil Defence Female Squad. Today’s occasion is memorable and unique in that it is a specific and novel response to a national security challenge.

It therefore gives me a great joy to be part of this project intended to add value to security and enhance the capacity and operational efficiency of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
