•••As school gets all courses re-accredited at once
Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State has assured public that the peaceful atmosphere and academic stability being enjoyed on campus.

Rector of the institution, Dr John Taiwo Adekolawole made this known on Tuesday while speaking with our Correspondent. He added that Mass Communication courses, Urban and Regional Planning and some other courses will also take off soon.
The Rector said the feat achieved by the Polytechnic this month is a struggle of over twelve years, adding that more restructuring are ongoing and more innovations are on the way.
Adekolawole said, “it’s a great achievement for us as an institution. Getting all courses was last achieved like 12 years ago. Over the last few years, we have made a lot of improvement. This is a result of our commitment to excellence.
“The team of National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) were also diligent, they went through all our programmes, inspected facilities and we thank God it was a successful one. Now we can focus on restructuring that’s ongoing and also work on introducing new courses.
“Very soon, we are bringing Mass Communication in a reformed manner. We will ensure we introduce it in a professional way. Another course we’re bringing is Urban and Regional Planning. We’re on the right track”.

In their respective chats with our Correspondent, Deputy Rector Academics, Dr Joseph Petirin and the Registrar, Alhaji Tunji Agboola said the re-accreditation is significant to the development of the institution and will no doubt put the open rooms for more improvement.
“We have been working on this re-accreditation since 2018 when Dr Adekolawole came on board. We started by improving our facilities, set up and revitalize our laboratories and other facilities needed for the accreditation.
“To tell you how important it was, we set up different committees at the management level to ensure we have a seemless process and we were able to achieve it. The process is very important as it certifies us to go ahead and continue all the courses we are offering here. It’s really a landmark achievements and with that, we can continue working on other innovations.” Petirin said.
Agboola said, “We’re working on sustaining the peaceful atmosphere we have now. Most of the issues we had in the past were as a result of lack of communication. Now, we are carrying every stakeholder along. We are ensuring that we give no room for misinformation and rumour speculations. With that, we will sustain the peace we have now.”
Also speaking, the Director of Academic Planning, Dr Nneka Nwankpa ascribed the success recorded by the school to the cooperation of all the management staff under Dr Adekolawole.
She said the institution was supposed to get the process done in 2020, but the advent of COVID-19 and lockdowns made it impossible.
