Members of the The Osun Progressives, a group within the All Progressives Congress have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately intervene in the crisis rocking the State chapter of the APC before it goes out of hands.
The made this call on Thursday after some hoodlums launched a violent attack on them during their weekly meeting at Oranmiyan House, Aregbe Area of Osogbo.
Speaking with journalists, Chairman of TOP, Adelowo Adebiyi described the attack as unfortunate that the attack happened on a day that operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps were absent at the meeting.
He said, “some political thugs invaded our meeting to launch an attack on us. They were shooting sporadically, causing stampede as members stumbled on one another for the safety of their lives. Luckily for us, no casualty was recorded during the meeting.
“This attack is coming three days after I raised an alarm that some of our leaders have been penciled down for assassination. This is not a coincidence. I want to remind the security agencies in the State that they are responsible for the s our safety of lives and properties in this State.

“President Muhammadu Buhari should intervene in this matter. It’s getting out of hands. We are members of the same party and they are attacking us like this. This is unfortunate,” Adebiyi lamented.
Adebiyi accused a Commissioner in the State, who according to him made an allegation against NSCDC members recently, of being behind the attack.
He also named the leader of the attackers as one Teslim Raji also known as Akerele from Ikoyi, Irewole local government area of the State.
The hoodlums came in black Siena bus, shot into the air for few minutes before heading towards Ogo-Oluwa area of the town.
