Factional chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State, Barr. Wale Ojo has reacted to the suspension handed on him by Hon Sunday Bisi-led leadership of the party.

While saying the decision was so disheartening, Ojo said he would not drag issues with the faction of the party.

His statement reads in part, “I read the resolution of the supporters of one of the gubernatorial aspirants of PDP in Osun State in which some of our officers were allegedly suspended by those loyal to the aspirant while some officers were reprimanded with warnings.

“It is disheartening that we have gotten to this level at this time that peace is gradually being restored to the party.

“We will not go to the trenches with them but I want to make bold and say that the gathering which was chaired or presided over by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Sunday Bisi and his illegal gathering, taking into the cognizance the dictates of the Court Judgment that was handed over to the party from the State High Court, Ife Division, he has no right whatsoever, any right to preside over any meeting of PDP, so whatever the group may have done is illegal, ultra vires, null and void and of no effect.

“Notwithstanding that, we have been communicating with leaders of the party and there is peace in PDP, Osun State Chapter.

“I want to implore all our party members to stay calm, stay focused and keep working tirelessly with a view to dislodging the incumbent ruling party, APC that is hell bent on impoverishing the citizens of Osun state on daily basis with their anti-human policies.

“We will liaise with the leadership of the party, especially the BoT members, The National Assembly and Osun State Assembly caucuses, notable leaders across all the 30 LGAs and The Area Office as well as all other leaders of the party in Osun on how best we can resolve the lingering crisis in Osun State Chapter and put an end to it permanently.

“Meanwhile, we will soon commence the tour of all the local governments and Wards to sensitize and educate the people about the true position on what is happening in the party so that we can forge a common front that will be devoid of rumours and insinuations, look for how we can work together in harmony and unity to ensure that our party regains her lost glory and wins the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State in 2022.

“We are also using this opportunity to appeal to those fomenting troubles to take the interest of the party at hearts and let’s all work together, let’s resolve whatever is happening right now in line with the constitution of the party and other extant laws of the country.”
