The Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Iwo has on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the kidnap case against three suspects Bari Galadima, Muhammed Abdullahi and Sarkin Fulani Hussein recently arrested in the State.

The duo are currently standing trial on allegation of conspiracy and kidnapping.

The court adjourned the hearing following prayer from the lead prosecution counsel who said he needed to get a vital document as related to the case from the police Headquarters in Osogbo.

It was gathered the third defendant, Hussaini Abdullahi, was also in the court on allegation of conspiracy.

Counsel to the third defendant, Tunde Lawal told newsmen that his client only came from home as he had been granted bail following his exoneration by the first and second defendants.

According to an source, Galadima has earlier confessed to the police, clearing the third defendant of the allegation against him.

He furthered that he was “implicated” and they planned to tarnish his name as Sarkin Fulani.

This medium reports that the suspects were arrested by the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad at their hideout in a remote village in Oyo State.

The first and second defendants claimed that there is no relationships between them and the third defendant, Sarkin Fulani of Afijo Local Government Area of Oyo state.

While being interrogated by the police, Galadima and Abdullahi confessed to committing the crime while Hussaini denied his involvement in the ongoing case.

The second defendant Abdullahi revealed, they were trying to stain the reputation of Sarki Hussein, according as he has no hands in their kidnap plans.

He continued, “We planned to kidnap one man, Alhaji Idris Aliu. We continued calling him, demanding ransom but he didn’t give us.

“We then threatened to kidnap him, if he doesn’t pay us a ransom. But before we could kidnap him, the Government came and apprehended us.”

The trial judge, afterwards, adjourned the case till May 23 for further hearing.
