Dauda Abdulfatai, who initiated a 200-hour ironing marathon to surpass Gareth Sander’s Guinness World Record of 100 hours, unexpectedly terminated his attempt after exceeding 142 hours of continuous ironing.

The decision was influenced by medical concerns and feedback from his support team.

Commencing the marathon last Wednesday at Off Ajaokuta Road, Ganaja Village, Lokoja, Kogi State, Dauda had obtained approval via mail from the Guinness World Records.

Having surpassed 142 hours in the ironing marathon, Abdulfattah El-Okene not only exceeded Gareth Sanders’ 2015 record for a 100-hour ironing marathon from the UK but also ironed an impressive 2,249 garments during this remarkable feat.
