The Osun State House of Assembly has pledged full support and readiness to partner with Osun Health Insurance Agency by improving the enrollment into the scheme.

This was said by the Speaker of the House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun on Thursday at the Assembly complex during the courtesy visit of the Agency to the Assembly.

The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr Rasaq Akindele led the management of the agency to the assembly on a courtesy call. The meeting also served as avenue to reel out innovative programmes embedded in the Osun Health Insurance Scheme.

Egbedun reiterated that Health Agency scheme was an innovative idea, adding that it would improve the Health sector of the State.

“First off, I commend the Agency for this innovative idea shared with us today, I must say that this will improve the Health Sector of the State.

“We, at the House of Assembly are also willing to partner with Osun Health Insurance Scheme”, he reiterated.

Speaking with newsmen, Members of the Assembly also pledged full support by enrolling people from their Constituency in order to improve the health sector of the State.

Similarly, Akindele emphasized the purpose of the advocacy visit was to seek support and encourage them to enroll people in their constituency into the insurance scheme.

He said, “It has a lot of multiplier effect, to take care of the health of these people and it will also increase their own popularity as advocate of people’s good health.

“We have started the campaign, sensitisation of people to know the benefits of joining the scheme.

“Because they only pay 12,066 Naira for a person per year, and they are entitled to all form of health care.
If it’s a family, it’s 57,600, and all the whole family will be entitled to the whole health care. He explained

Akindele added that the agency has increased it’s scope of its operations and also the tariffs to the providers.

“We have try to increase our scope,we have increase our scope to take care of so many ailment.

“We have also increase the tariff to providers too, so that they can provide good services to our people.

“So we have come here to encourage the House of Assembly members to be part of this. To enroll people in their constituency and contribute to the good health of people in Osun state.”

” We have so expanded our scope of operations by including HIV patients, People With Disabilities, pregnant women into our operations”, he concluded.

OSHIA under Akindele has embarked on massive drive to ensure it gets more enrollees in line with the vision of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
