The men anti-cultism unit of the Osun Police Command have arrested three suspects, allegedly involved in stealing diesel from Adeleke University, Ede.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola on Friday at the police headquarters, in Osogbo revealed that the suspects, identified as Adenle Akingbade , Hammed Musa and Ganiyu Sodiq who are 34, 18, 28 years respectively were caught during a township patrol at Bepo area, Ede.

“Police officers during the arrest recovered 120 litres of diesel, which is serving as a strong evidence in the ongoing investigation,” she said.

In an interview with one of the suspects, Ganiyu Sodiq, claimed innocence, that he was only buying diesel from his supplier behind Adeleke University’s building.

According to Sodiq, this has been going on for six months, and he has bought from this supplier over thirty times and buys 30 liters at rate of N30K. He made his profit by reselling the diesel, selling the 30ltrs for N40K.

However, the Police PRO are determined in their efforts to arrest the other suspects that are at large and present the suspects before the court after the ongoing the investigation.

SP Yemisi Opaloba also admonished the people of Osun state to be vigilant and inform the Police on any suspicious activities in their environment and contact the Police of any crime happening in their community.
