The General Overseer of Victory Life Ministries International and Convener of Pentecost Day, Bishop Mike Bamidele has called on the federal government to review recently introduced policies, stating that any policy that makes people cry must be reviewed.
Bishop Bamidele said this on Monday at this year’s Pentecost Day in Osogbo, Osun State.
The Cleric urged the federal government to consult widely before bringing about any policy, adding that government must seek direction from the Holy Spirit.
He said, “government must ask the Holy Spirit for direction. Ask experts in every field for direction. We need to be sincere in our policy making and be conscious of the suffering of people that they govern.
“No matter how good an intention a policy is, if the outcome is making people cry those policies need instant review or there will be a crash of the entire system because when people get pushed to the wall there will be a reaction. Revolution is near if nothing is done to address policies that inflict suffering on our people. We must work hard to do more for the people.” He said.
The Pentecost Day Convener posited that has blessed Nigeria with enough resources but it requires optimum utilization.
“God has given us grace, we should not take the grace of God in vain. God has blessed Nigeria and we should not misuse the resources of Nigeria.”
He urged Christians to be vast in faith and drop sinful lives that can block their grace and blessings .
He said* “As Christians also the saving power of God has washed away your sins, you should not go back to things worse than a sinner was doing. That is vandalizing grace, abusing grace, if you are doing unrighteous things and you say grace covers you that is grace abuse.
“The standard of a believer’s life must be above that of an average person, we are the light of the world, the standard of measurement must be precise, and our identity must be known as Christians at all times. ”
At this year’s Pentecost Day Celebration, Bishop Bamidele also reiterated the call for recognition of Pentecost Day and declaration of such as public holiday. He said such move will bring about religious equality.
The Bishop said, “The government is slow in recognizing the Pentecost Day celebration. More than ten years ago, I spoke to everybody who cared to listen including the state House of Assembly and all the governors who have heard in every home that this day should be recognized as a public holiday when you give God his blessing he will give you your place.
“One of the reasons why we are suffering now is that we have not yet given God its place in our affairs as a nation.
“Osun state under the then Governor gave Isese and Hijirah Day government recognition and ignored the Christians. That can disrupt peace, and equity in a polarized and multi-religious society like ours. Whenever you want to do something, you must be conscious of all other interests and balances.”
