Pep Guardiola insists Manchester City will accept whatever ruling is handed down over their 115 charges but has called for a swift resolution.
City face their day in court over 115 charges of Financial Fair Play irregularities. The breaches are alleged to have taken place between 2009 and 2018 and City have already been warned they could face relegation if found guilty. They have maintained their innocence throughout.
The case will begin in the autumn and there is a hope, per The Independent, that the verdict will be handed down before the end of the season. Nevertheless, Guardiola maintains that City will not fight whatever judgement they receive.
Guardiola told reporters: “I am happy that it starts soon and hopefully it will finish soon, for the benefit of all of us, especially the club but also other Premier League clubs and all the people who don’t wait for the sentence.
“I wish, from the deep in my heart, go to the trial, the independent panel – and I say again, independent panel – and as soon as possible, release what happened and we will accept like always we have done.”
