President Bola Tinubu attended Jumat prayers on Friday at the Lekki Central Mosque in Lagos State. His visit marked his first public appearance since observing prayers at the Alausa Central Mosque the previous Friday.

Upon his arrival, Tinubu was welcomed by Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, alongside other dignitaries and members of the mosque clergy.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Chief Imam of Lekki Central Mosque, Ridhwan Jamiu, expressed admiration for the president. He prayed for Tinubu’s success in fostering peace, security, and prosperity for the nation.

The Imam said, “We are proud of you. I remember encouraging people to vote for you during the campaigns. We thank God that you have not disappointed us. We know you are capable, sagacious, and competent. We believe and pray that you will continue to deliver and not disappoint us. May Allah guide and protect you as you lead the nation. Allah has entrusted Nigeria to you, and you will be accountable for this trust.”

Imam Jamiu further praised Tinubu for his commitment to righteousness, fairness, and justice, urging him to maintain these virtues.

He added, “We have seen righteousness, fairness, and justice in you. Please continue to uphold these qualities. You bear one of the names of Prophet Muhammad, Ahmed, someone who does praiseworthy deeds. This has been evident in your past actions, and we hope it will continue in your leadership.”

President Tinubu returned to Lagos on December 18 to spend the holidays after presenting the 2025 budget to the National Assembly.
