An appeal has been made to the royal family and people to put an end to grievances and ill feelings to protect the sanctity of the revered throne of Owa Obokun Adimula.

Oba Adeola Adekinle (Ajagungbade Okunola I), the Awara of Iwara Kingdom,He emphasized that the throne must never be rubbished, bad-mouthed, or desecrated under any circumstances.

The awara, as the first and eldest son of the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijeshaland and a direct descendant of Oduduwa Olofin Aiye, expressed his profound pain over any act of disrespect towards the throne or its occupant. He noted that such actions not only undermine the royal institution but also tarnish the heritage of Ijeshaland.

In his message, the Awara of Iwara urged all noble princes and princesses of Ijeshaland to accept and support the current monarch, His Imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, for the sake of peace and progress in the land. “By embracing this reality, they would demonstrate true nobility and uphold the values of our great lineage,” he stated.

The respected monarch emphasized that unity among the royal family and the people is crucial to ensuring the prosperity and harmony of Ijeshaland. He appealed for collective efforts to preserve the dignity and honor of the Owa Obokun Adimula’s throne, a symbol of cultural heritage and collective pride for the Ijesa people.

Oba Adeola also extended his prayers and good wishes to the newly installed Owa Obokun Adimula, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup. He prayed for a peaceful and prosperous reign for the paramount ruler, underscoring the importance of divine guidance and wisdom in leading the people.

“As a kingdom, we stand stronger together. Let us unite and work towards a brighter future for our land,” the Awara of Iwara concluded, urging all stakeholders to prioritize the collective good of Ijeshaland above personal interests.
