President Bola Tinubu has declared his readiness to face criticism as he implements reforms aimed at securing Nigeria’s future.

Speaking on Saturday in Enugu during a meeting with South-East stakeholders, Tinubu emphasized that difficult decisions, such as the removal of the petrol subsidy, are crucial for the country’s progress.

Tinubu was in Enugu to commission several landmark projects by Governor Peter Mbah, including 30 smart green schools, 60 type-2 primary health centers, and the Airport-New Haven–Bisalla and Okpara Square roads, spanning 19 kilometers. During his address, the president underscored the need for unity and bold reforms to move Nigeria forward.

“We are all part of one big, united family called Nigeria, living in different rooms of the same house,” Tinubu stated.

“This house must be built not only to address today’s challenges but to prepare for tomorrow. Removing the petrol subsidy was necessary to protect the future of generations yet unborn.”

Acknowledging the hardships of governance, Tinubu admitted he anticipated resistance but remains steadfast in his mission.

“I know people will fight, complain, and insult me, but I willingly took on this responsibility, fully aware of its difficulties. I believe in my ability to lead and assemble a capable team to create a nation we can all be proud of,” he affirmed.

The president also called on Nigerians to adopt a more optimistic outlook, emphasizing the nation’s potential and the importance of collective effort.

“This is our country, and we must work tirelessly to shape a brighter future. Negative comments cannot define us. I am proud of Nigeria, and I urge you to feel the same,” he concluded.

Tinubu’s message highlights his vision for a united and thriving Nigeria, built through resilience and shared commitment to progress.
