The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has said he won’t have allowed the war between Russia and Ukraine to start if he was the president then.
This was disclosed by Trump on Saturday during a phone call with Canada Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.
The call was centred around the involvement of United States in ending the Russia – Ukraine war and the border security.
This comes after the recent announcement of tariffs against Canada and Trump has disclosed that Canada might become the US 51st state.
According to a statement released on Saturday evening, the White House correspondence gathered that Trump and Trudeau began the call by discussing the 4 Nations Face-Off hockey tournament that Canada won.
“The discussion turned to Monday’s G7 call that will mark the third anniversary of the invasion and war in Ukraine.
“Prime Minister Trudeau echoed President Trump’s desire to see an end to the war and acknowledged that President Trump is the only world leader who can push through a just and lasting peace.
“President Trump reminded the prime minister that the war should never have started and would not have had he been president at the time,” the statement said.
