Nollywood star Halima Abubakar has made a desperate appeal for assistance, sharing her ongoing struggles and financial hardships.
In a heartfelt Instagram Live session on Tuesday, Abubakar opened up about her challenges, revealing that she has been living in her village for over a year. She spoke of her deteriorating health, emphasizing how much she’s been suffering.
Sharing her pain, she posted her account details, urging Nigerians to support her in her time of need.
She said, “Good morning, people are confused about what’s going on. This is me, but every day I post a picture with a filter because I don’t want to show how I really look. Some of you would accuse me of lying, but why would I lie about being sick? I went to Nigeria’s top hospital for treatment.
“They kicked me out of Nollywood, and that’s fine, but why all these betrayals? People say I was never sick and I was lying. I’ve spent over a year in my village and just recently moved due to the hospital where I’m receiving treatment. I’m here now. There’s nothing wrong with me medically. My so-called best friend even said I was lying, pretending to be sick. That’s pure wickedness. Why would someone lie about being ill? I’ve begged so many people for help, but there’s no work, no money for medication.
“My best friend called me a liar and didn’t even come to check on me. Do you want me to die? Do you want me to end my life? I won’t even mention her name, but that’s a clear sign she was never really my best friend.
“Nobody in Nollywood talks to me. I’ve been messaging people, hoping someone will help. I was once rich. I sold my three cars and now have nothing.”
Her emotional outcry has ignited widespread concern and reactions across social media, with many expressing their worry for her well-being.
