Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has referred to himself as a madman undergoing treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Aro, Abeokuta.

He made this declaration on Tuesday while appealing to Nigerians and the Ogun State Government after being declared wanted by the state police command.

Portable’s comment came after reports that he had been involved in a violent altercation with three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office.

The officials, TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, Ogun State.

The officials encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at the Odogwu Bar. When they identified themselves and asked to see the approved building plan, the father told them that his son was not available.

Moments later, Portable appeared with a firearm and other weapons, leading a group of nine thugs in a violent attack on the unarmed officials. The officials sustained various injuries but managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command, which escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. Nine accomplices were arrested, but Portable fled and has since been in hiding.

In response to the police declaration, Portable posted a series of rants on Instagram, asking for understanding from Nigerians and the state governor, Dapo Abiodun. He claimed he was set up because he was wearing a vest featuring the face of Senator Adeola Solomon, also known as Yayi.

Additionally, Portable emphasized that he is a madman receiving medical treatment at the Aro Hospital. He stated, “I fear the government. I am a liability to the federal government. I’m a madman, and I take medications. You can confirm it at Aro Hospital, where I have a card as one of their patients. I’m from Abeokuta, and they are taking care of me there. I’m not a thief; I help people around me without questioning their background.”
