
The National Association of University Students (NAUS) has applauded the leadership of Ekiti State University (EKSU) and Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) for their visionary leadership in inspecting the groundbreaking Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) Internet Distribution Service (FIDS) Multimedia Studio.
Comrade Ologe John Oluwatobiloba, National Director of Campus Interventions, NAUS, commended Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, Vice-Chancellor of EKSU;
Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, Vice-Chancellor of BOUESTI; and Mrs. Adeusi Funmilola Adenike, Registrar of BOUESTI, for their proactive engagement in promoting digital transformation in Nigerian universities.
The FIDS project, an initiative of FUOYE, aims to revolutionize digital learning and multimedia access, equipping students with cutting-edge tools for academic and professional excellence.
Comrade Ologe described the project as a “bold step toward technological transformation” and hailed Professor Abayomi Sunday Fashina’s leadership as pivotal in making FUOYE a model of innovation and digital learning in Nigeria.
Comrade Ologe urged Nigerian universities to follow FUOYE’s lead by forging strategic partnerships to provide seamless, high-speed internet and technological resources.
He emphasized that investments in digital infrastructure are crucial to unlocking the full potential of Nigerian students in the 21st century.
