
A passenger was arrested and blacklisted by Air Peace for stealing on a flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt. The airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Ejike Ndiulo, confirmed the incident on Thursday, revealing that the suspect was found in possession of stolen items following a thorough search upon arrival at Port Harcourt International Airport.
Ndiulo stated that the passenger was handed over to the airport police for further investigation and necessary action. “We confirm an incident of in-flight theft onboard Flight P47190 on February 19, 2025. The airline reiterates its firm commitment to passenger safety and security and has taken swift action in response to the incident,” the statement read.
Air Peace also expressed concern over the rising number of in-flight thefts in recent weeks and outlined steps to combat the issue. “Air Peace is deeply concerned by the recent increase in in-flight thefts. To address this, the airline is implementing enhanced surveillance measures on its flights,” the statement continued.
As part of these measures, cabin crew have been instructed to maintain heightened vigilance, and in-flight announcements will be increased to remind passengers to secure their belongings and report any suspicious activity.
Additionally, the airline recommended blacklisting the suspect, reinforcing its zero-tolerance policy against any behavior that compromises passenger safety and comfort. “The airline is taking a strong stand against criminal acts by recommending the blacklisting of the identified individual, underscoring its zero-tolerance policy for misconduct,” the statement emphasized.
