Another devastating fire broke out at Sokoto’s renowned Kara Market, which primarily sells grains and other goods.
The fire, which began in the early hours of Saturday, quickly spread throughout the market, destroying numerous grain stores and shops.
While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, the Sokoto State Fire Service is actively working to control the blaze. As of the latest report, shop owners and residents near the market are seen evacuating their belongings in fear that the fire could spread further.
Attempts to reach the market’s general manager were unsuccessful, though he was observed ensuring that no one took advantage of the chaos to loot.
