Nollywood actress Biola Adebayo made a deeply touching gesture by gifting veteran actress Dupe Jayesimi a brand-new car in celebration of Mother’s Day, bringing overwhelming joy to Jayesimi.
This thoughtful surprise came on Sunday after Jayesimi had bravely opened up about her personal struggles with infertility, a pain that once led her to cope with alcohol addiction.
In an emotional interview on Biola Adebayo’s podcast, Jayesimi shared the heartache and challenges she faced due to her inability to have children, which ultimately contributed to the end of her marriage. She spoke candidly about her attempts at IVF, both of which ended in disappointment.
“I got married while pregnant, but after the wedding, I had a miscarriage,” she recalled. “Later, at 40, I found out I was pregnant again, but scans revealed that the pregnancy was in the back of my womb.”
Reflecting on her troubled marriage, Jayesimi revealed how the emotional distance from her ex-husband affected her. “He used pillows to separate us when we slept, and two weeks after I left, a pregnant woman moved into the house. I cried for days,” she tearfully shared.
Jayesimi also opened up about the pain of raising other people’s children, feeling the absence of her own. “I raised my sister’s child, but on the wedding day, she told me, ‘You can’t sit here; even if you spent millions, the child is still mine.’ That broke me,” she explained.
She confessed that she used to dance at social gatherings not for fun, but to conceal her pain. “When I go to events, I dance a lot, not because I’m having a good time, but to hide my sorrow,” she admitted.
On Sunday, March 30, Biola Adebayo and her team surprised Jayesimi with the car at her home. A heartwarming video shared on social media captured Biola offering prayers before handing over the keys. Jayesimi, visibly moved, broke down in tears, expressing her deep gratitude.
Biola Adebayo shared the touching moment on Instagram, writing, “Happy Mother’s Day, Mummy @dupe_jayesimi. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this possible in just a few days. To all the Talk-To-B supporters, I truly appreciate your love and support. I’m so happy we could put a smile on her face.”
