The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has expressed his condolences over the passing of Dr. Rauf Adekunle Adeniji (popularly known as Congo), the National Director of Administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In an official statement signed by Mallam Olawale, Governor Adeleke extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the late political figure, the Ooni of Ife, and the entire Ile-Ife community, describing Dr. Adeniji as one of the state’s “promising lights” whose death leaves a significant void in Osun and beyond.

However, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Dr. Rauf Adetunji Adeniji and offer my sincere condolences to his family, the Ooni of Ife, and the people of Ife,” the governor stated. “His exit was too sudden and devastating” he said.

Adeleke also sympathized with the APC family both in Osun and across Nigeria, recognizing the late chieftain’s service and contributions to the party and the nation. He prayed for strength for all affected and for the soul of Dr. Adeniji to find eternal rest.

He added when news of his return flooded the media space yesterday, I had thought the worst was over,” the governor noted. “It is my earnest hope that his impacts during his lifetime provide solace to those mourning this loss.
